One of the teams I play for is a 50+ team in Jamestown, NY. We are part of a very nice league with teams from NY, PA and OH. This was a 7 inning game that was tied 0-0 after seven. We ended up winning it in the bottom of the 11th, but not before several outstanding defensive plays made this a game to remember. Both teams made diving catches in the infield and outfield refusing to lose and keeping the game alive. The pitchers did an outstanding job going the distance. All 11 innings. Well almost..... Our Pitcher Ron Thomas got the first two outs in the top of the 11th before taking a nasty spill and briefly knocking himself out. After his short visit to La La land we brought him into the dugout and handed the ball to a crafty lefty Winston Woodard who got us out of the inning. We finally won the game in the bottom of the inning. It was one of those games that keeps you coming back for more. Sometimes we get a bit discourageed and question why we keep playing this great game as our skills continue to erode. Then a game like this comes along and stokes the fire. Can't wait for next week.Tags:
